Change

After 6 years, and being my first Career job fresh out of college, I decided its time to move on.  I took an offer in the city and now I face the challenge of going from a 7 minute door to door commute to about a 40 minute (two trains) commute.  Making the decision was definitely a tough decision I battled for months, maybe even a year.  I guess I finally came to that point in life where I knew if I wanted to continue moving forward in life, I had to swallow my fears and take a risk.  I accepted the fact, that sometimes you have to take the challenge to find your happiness and if your happy, the challenge will be worth every minute.
New Year, New Begginings!
Like seasons change, People change, ...things change. Know when it's time to turn the page and move on.  You never know how glorious the other side can be until you try it with an open mind.   :)

Faith

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains, hope that doesn’t
ever end, even when the sky is falling.  And I’ve seen miracles
just happen, silent prayers get answered, and broken hearts
become brand new. That’s what faith can do.
Always Faith in moving F O R W A R D

Letting Go..

"To let go isn't to forgot, not to think about, or ignore. It doesn't leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn't about winning or losing. It's not about pride and it's not about how you appear, and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past. Letting go isn't blocking memories or thinking sad thoughts, and doesn't leave emptiness, hurt, or sadness. It's not about giving in or giving up. Letting go isn't about loss and it's not about defeat. To let go is to cherish the memories, but to overcome and move on. It is having an open mind confidence in the future. Letting go is learning and experiencing and growing. To let go is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow. It's about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain. Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving. Letting go is growing up. It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. To let go is to open a door, and to clear a path and set yourself free."

I found this quote as I was looking for inspiration on letting go. Recently, someone whom I've been extremely close to for a very long time and I decided we had to let go of each other.  While It was very sad and hurtful to me to make that decision, and not exactly my first preference of action. I knew there was no other option given the circumstance of us. So, the decisions were made and I quickly began to wonder why I couldn't fill my heart with resentment of the outcome. I thought that was the natural thing to do to start the process. Why couldn't I just tell myself it's time to put the memories behind and work towards forgetting so I can indeed.. let go. I didn't want to forget. I didn't want to empty memories although I felt pain, and yet although I felt pain because of that person I did not want to grow angry at them. As hard as it is, I want to embrace change and have faith in the new outcome of the future.  I will with no doubt carry with me the experiences Ive shared with that someone so dear and the many lessons that have grown and will grow.  Yet, even with a positive mind, I guess the hardest part of letting go, will always be to stay confident that the decision was the right choice.  But I guess it's the reality of life,- having Faith in the uncertain, having the courage to smile even if it hurts, and having the strength to keep your word. I always tell myself things are only as hard as one makes it and now I know and faith that I can let go, and most importantly, to let go... you don't have to forget.

Jump Series with Lysander Clase Photography

So I spent my Sunday afternoon tagging along with Lysander and friends visiting Highline Park in Nyc for my very first time.  Highline park is a roughly a 2mile long park built on an old elevated railroad that opened to the public in 2009.  The park's attractions include naturalized plantings that is to be inspired by the self-seeded landscape that grew on the formerly disused train tracks.  You can also find random areas with beautiful timber lounges for viewing the hudson river or the city which I must say, have a romantic appeal.  You can also find rather technical architectured bird houses sitting in certain parts which effectively attracted visits from a variety of birds. The beautiful and natured park which surrounds several amazing buildings in the city, gave photographer Lysander Clase a great appeal to shoot an idea for a jump series photoshoot.  The pictures came out so amazing I just had to share :)     Kudos to our jumper,  my cousin Ori.

The Latin Mixx Conference Awards

When Partysiando came about, my fellow partner and producer of the show Marinelly, knew the Latin Mixx Conference in NYC would be something we definitely needed to attend.  Therefore, when timing came about she made sure to sign us up to represent the show and the Media press we are.   With that said,  we had the honors of attending all 3 events for the Latin Mixx.
Day one consisted of an artist exhibition at 809 Lounge which consisted of many buzz worthy music artists performances,  a very fun to watch DJ spin off, and performance from artist Max Music formally known as one of the members of the Aventura group.
Day two was the Conference which turned out to be a festive networking event at the Times Center.  We set up a display booth for Partysiando which included a flat screen displaying all our past shows and we presented a chance to win a free Ipod nano , only needing a business card to sign up!  We also interviewed some of the industry people up for nominations,  Nationally known photographer Danny Hastings, and host L Boogs of MTV3 and Hot97 to name a few.    During the conference event  Mari & I also aired live on on the 1-800 Contaso show on La Fiesta's 98.5  to speak about Partysiando.  They're were also guest speakers such as Manny Gonzales, the director of hispanic marketing for hennesy and moet who touched based on it's current DJ Collective.  The After party took place at Cielo in the meat packing district which was sponsored by Hennessy Black and was given complimentary to the guest.
Further more day three, was the exciting day of all as it was the awards show.  Upon arrival guest found themselves on a green carpet representing Heinken's sponsorship.  The awards were hosted by 106 & Park's Rocsi and Hot 97's Latin Mixx Award winner Dj of the year, Dj Prostyle.  Aside from all the award presentations their were surprises acts such a comedian, percussionist, violinist and performance by Jadakiss to name a few.  Overall, the Awards definitely honored DJs through several nominations, montages in honor of  Djs we lost, and a special tribute was given in honoring the DJ Icon of the year, Dj Little Louie Vega.   Celebrity guest included Toby Love, Max Music, Grupo Xtreme, Kat Deluna, Tony Touch, Cito Rocks, Magic Juan and many more!  Finally, the after party was held in HK where everyone Latino or even Non Latino , where happy to celebrate such a successful Conference.
Big Congrats to all the winners!!

Run the world (Girls)

This  is an amazing video and an amazing song.   Although the video was actually directed by Francis Lawrence ( a man) ,  Beyonce did a great job with her acting skills in portraying strong woman.  (After all she is one)

Great song to commend all the ladies who work hard, college grads, buy their own things, and who are simply constantly on their grind.  :)

Airgraphics at Andrew Zucker's Bar Mitzvah

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of working Andrew Zucker's party along with the Airgraphics crew. The big event took place at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Nyc. Andrew son of Jeff Zucker, former President and CEO of NBC/Universal had first requested Kanye to perform at his Mitzvah, but the artist reportedly wanted $1 million dollars.  Drake however, reportedly got 250,000 to do the job and I must add did it wonderfully.  He was very humble, and interacted nicely with the kids. He made it a point to tell them all the importance of doing well in school. I wouldn't see Kanye showing such a caring attitude..

Here are some pics of the event ...

Katie Couric got special treatment by requesting an airbrushed tattoo.

Partysiando visits Ultra Bar In Teaneck..

Yesterday,  we brought the Partysiando crew to Ultra Bar in Teaneck, New Jersey. My Partner, Clubzone.fm's own and GME Nightlife's own Vlad Celebrated his big 3-0 along with other birthdays such as DJ Nyse and Big Ed. It was a fun festive night filled with many of our weekly party goers, tons of bottles and shots, and special guest DJ's such as DJ Mad & DJ Inacept.

It's safe for you to say Ultra bar is definitely a multi-atmosphere venue.  It has a large bar and dance floor area for those who want to party and dance the night away. Plenty of lounge area for those who are laid back and wish to enjoy the scene. It also has a latin room for those who wish to show off some spanish dancing skills. Last, but not least, a beautiful outdoor patio complete with two bars,  cozy decor, and lounge funiture, for those who want to enjoy the beautiful weather without leaving the party scene.  Be sure to look out for the latest show of Partysiando coming soon!

Partsyiando @ Club XL

So yesterday I hosted the Partysiando show at Club XL in Newark.  It was a pretty good party. To my surprise there was a percussionist dressed with a bunny mask on the stage to the left going along with the music. There was also two lovely bunny ladies dancing around the club occasionally spraying strings out to the crowd.  There was also a Latin room and an outdoor patio in case you needed some fresh air... or a cig break.   It was a lively crowd, Hot 97's Dennis Rivera also made his presence oh and not to forget, great music by the one man show DJ Brinka!

AIRGRAPHICS.BIZ

Airgraphics is a business in which about 85% is hired for Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties.  We bring products such as High Definition photo favors, Airbushing tattoos, and various favors which gets customized on the spot during the parties such as sweat shirts, hats, t-shirts, basketballs, pillow cases, etc. The main form of customizations is through Airbrushing.  The High Def photos are pretty cool.  You snap a pic on the green screen, pic your funky/funny/cool back ground, and we'll print them for you on a nice frame for you to take home.  Customizing a product such as a sweat shirt is specifically cool for the kids as they pic a design and can watch the artist airbrush the item on the spot.
Further more, I started working with Airgraphics when I was 19 yrs old.  It was thrilling.  I experienced parties I never even imagined off.  I'm talking about big buck events!  If you ever seen the show My Sweet 16, well a lot of these parties compete.  I basically interact with the kids. I'm either snapping pics for the photo favors, or helping them pick a design to Airbrush for the given product. Overall, I enjoy work for the company.  I visit different venues all around the tri-state, have fun with the kids, and for the most part get to indulge in some of the best catering :)   Just this weekend I visited the PineBrook Country Clubhouse in Boston, MA. For this event the adults had their own space in the venue seperate from the kids space.   Here are some pics to share of the event ...

The video may be fun, but that mohawk has got to go!

I've currently had this song on repeat for the last 36 hours before I decided to check out the vid today.  I can't help but think....  is it me or is everyone Lady Gaga ish lately?  Is that what it takes to attract, to hit the bilboards now a days?  What's happened to the days of simple yet sassy, feminine ladies like Mariah Carey???  The world is converting. Bold, edgy and even weird seems to be the new ...norm?

Then Partysiando Came along...

A short time after I began working at Clubzone, I was approached by Maria Almonte (Vice President) , to cast for a hosting gig for LatinoVisionTV.com I was especially nervous for this role as I never formally casted for anything in my entire life. Not to mention, being born and raised here in NJ by both parents who use English as their first language, I'm sad to admit , not 100% fluent in Spanish. Having both grandmothers who speak spanish with heavy puerto rican accents and slangs, I knew enough to get by, yet not enough to feel confident. I attended the first cast, which ended up being 100% in spanish and needless to say, thankfully did better than I hoped for as I was chosen for the job. (1st Challenge accomplished) However, this now meant I would be conducting interviews in spanish to people, and being filmed on the spot with limited time meant, I had only one chance to get the done. Luckily, I would have a dear friend , Marinelly Almonte, as producer of the show who fluently spoke spanish. (2nd Challenge Accomplished) Also filming the studio part for the show, I just needed my ability to read in spanish. Piece of cake! With that being said, Maria's vision for PARTYSIANDO was born and invented to cover the nightlife scene in north eastern counties in NJ. It gives you insight as to what "Partysiando" in these venues would be like. As well as some interviews with the Djs, promoters, and music artist. As you may have read in my prior blog, my hosting experience only started in Aug of 2010. You'll notice in these videos how much I've progressed from the very first video until now. Take a peak by clicking the links below. Feel free to share any ideas or thoughts, or even book us for your event!
